Since installing KB2919355 on my machine, the behaviour of remote desktop connections to this machine have changed.
Expected behaviour / what previously happened:
- rdp to the machine connects to the console window (locking it).
- closing the rdp connection 'disconnects' the user allowing reconnection (either via rdp or console)
What happens now:
- disconnecting from rdp logs user out.
- if user is already logged into console on rdp connection then user is logged out of console and rdp connection immediately signs out and closes
I've tried installing a fresh 8.1 pro install into a virtual machine and stepping through updates to confirm which KB caused this (and that it is reproducable, at least in my configuration).
Behaviour seems the same from both windows 7 & 8 clients.
I can't find any reference to changes in the 8.1u1 notes, and the behaviour on existing logins seems more like a bug than a deliberate change - does anyone know anything about this?
