"WiFi" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

For the past few days my laptop has had limited connectivity to teh internet. Whenever I try troubleshooting the problem, I just get this error message:

"WiFi" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

I've already tried entering the following commands that i found into an administrator command prompt, but nothing seems to work.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
