Slow network performance

Hi. I am having problems with the network transfer speed. My home network consist of 1 stationary computer connected to the internet via router, 1 laptop connected to router and 1 media streamer (Dune Smart D1), also connected to the router. I use my media streamer to access my media library that is on my stationary computer, sharing all the files with samba. Up until a few weeks ago I was running Windows 7 and all was fine. But recently I switched to Windows 8, and now the local network performance is down by over 50%.

The Dune HD has a tool built in for testing network transfer speed. When sharing to the Dune with samba from Windows 7 I had ~11Mb readspeed (roughly 95-100Mbit). But now in Windows 8 the read speed over the network, sharing with samba is down to ~3.5Mb. I have also tried sharing with the NFS protocol, which in Windows 7 worked briliantly, and now in win8 gives the same bad result. Using uPnP, the same result.

Copying files between my laptop and my stationary computer, the same result (utilizing aprox 30% of the network), so its not restricted to the Dune. Sharing the same files from my laptop with windows 7, through same router, same cable gets me back to 11Mb read speed.

So in short:

Before: Win7 + samba share = 11Mb read

Before: Win7 + NFS share = 11Mb read

Now: Win 8 + Samba = 3.5Mb read speed

Now: Win8 + NFS = 3.5Mb read speed

I have tried the DisableBandwidth registry trick with no difference. I have tried disabling autotuning, with a slight increase in LAN performance but a significant decrease in internet speed. So the hardware, cable, router etc is all the same, and all thats changed is the operating system. I can only come to the conclusion that its a windows 8 problem.

Can anyone please help?
