My previous question was archived and I did not see a way to revive it. So I guess I will ask again now that the RTM of Windows 8.1 is released. According to this KB article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2778122?wa=wsignin1.0) the proxy authentication issue was to be addressed in Windows 8.1.
In my environment - TMG 2010, Windows 8.1, TMG Firewall Client - the only way for a Windows 8 Store app to access the internet is to whitelist the destination. This is not acceptable more most apps and defeats the purpose of the proxy.
Has anyone discovered a way to enable authentication and take advantage of Windows Store apps behind an authenticated proxy? Is this something developers must leverage or should it work for any app at the Windows level.
For the record, I know that Windows 8.1 allows me to configure the proxy settings, but I find no way to handle authentication.
