I have a network drive (SAN) on my local network which everytime I re-install windows I cannot connect to it anymore.
Last time I fixed this issue it was just a single checkbox(or radio button) but I cannot remember where it was and what was it called.
I am getting error
"Error Code: 0x800704b3
The network path was either typed incorrectly, does not exists. or the network provider is not
currently available. Please try retyping the path or contact your network administrator."
Which none of them are true and by the way, I am the network administrator in my home network and sorry that I cannot contact myself (ain't sometimes Microsoft error messages as stupid as their developers?)
1- I can connect to internet and browse web and receive mail too. so my network connection is working perfectly.
2- I can ping my device (using both its IP and name). I can see an IP assigned to my device.
3- I can browse my device and even access its management service using firefox (I don't have internet explorer because I removed it)
4- I have File and printer sharing for microsoft network (in ethernet properties) installed and activated too.
5- windows installation is new so nothing is changed in it.
6- my firewall is not blocking the access to device either (If I disable it still cannot see the network drive)
7- Network and sharing center is empty!
8- In IPv4 advanced properties Netbios over TCP/IP is enabled too (which I think that was what fixed it last time)
9- there is no error event is listed in event viewer.
What is this problem that I have to fix every single time I install windows 8.1 I have to fix?
