Over the past couple of weeks I have been having a really tricky problem with one of the machines on my network. Basically I try to connect to "server" by browsing to it, I know it is working because other machines are accessing it although I can
see it Explorer, I am unable to see any shares within it. If I try and ping server it tells me pinging 192.*.*.74 then says host is unreachable. Now this is where things get really confusing, if I check the DHCP server, it tells me that the IP address is 192.*.*.72,
if I use that IP address to ping or browse to, everything is fine. Both machines are Win 8 x64. Both machines are connected to a home group.
I have reset the router which acts as a DHCP server to factory settings. Also done a flushdns, all with no success.
