Understand how to find devices on network

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 with windows 8 installed. It has been running just fine for many months. It is fast and quite fund to use.

I recently installed a netgear 6tb readynas on my network. I have a Comcast Xfinity wireless router. The computer and netgear nas are connected via cat5 cable to the router and my samsung smart tv is connected via the wireless aspect. Everything was happy as a lark.

I can access the nas from my tv or my computer and could view video or photos on the tv from my nas. It was a great world.

One day recently my nas had a small problem and netgear had to do support over the net on my nas. Everything was still there as they only had to fix the os.

But now I can't access my nas on the tv and I do not understand why.

When I open file manager on windows I see my nas show up in 2 places. Under the section title Computer and under the section titled Network.

When I click on the nas label under the computer section it shows the file structure but with no files in it. Almost like a virtual copy. When I click the nas under the Network title I see the file structure but when I click on each folder all the files are there.

On my TV the only one that shows up is the nas directory under the Computer section so no files show up. For some reason the real file structure from under the Network section will now not show on the TV. How do I get the tv to see the correct file structure (the one under Network) that has the files in it?

If you understand what I am saying any help is appreciated.
